Watch the 2012 "G4 Impact Test" video -- bit.ly The G3 Impact Test! -- We found an old Macintosh G3 Computer that one of the Emerson College computer labs were throwing out - so we took it home, and scavenged it for parts. The motherboard was broken, the PSU at least 8 years old, and the RAM and HDDs had already been removed. With no useful parts to be found, the next logical step was to get rid of the rest of it! There is a 45 foot cliff in Nahant, MA that seemed like the best way to do this. We recorded video with two low-quality digital cameras, and took still photos as well. Afterwards, we cleaned up all of the pieces, and disposed of them properly - so as not to pollute the beautiful waters of the North Shore... which were a good 15-20 feet from the impact site. It was a fun afternoon. ~~ Jogwheel Originals ~~ Original sketches, short films, parodies, music videos, documentaries, stunts, pranks and other fun projects from the Jogwheel Productions team. A Florida beachcomber has discovered what appears to be a huge eyeball washed up on the beach, and experts are stumped as to what kind of sea creature it came from.

eye

Eye, eye, what's all this then?

Local resident Gino Covacci found the giant eyeball washed up at the high-tide mark of Pompano Beach on the southeast tip of Florida. It was so unusual he called the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission to try and find out what it was.

"It was very, very fresh," he told the Orlando Sentinel. "It was still bleeding when I put it in the plastic bag."

So far, the authorities say that they haven't identified the source of the object, but it's believed to be the right eye of a large marine animal. A swordfish is one possibility, since they are widely fished in the area, and a squid has also been mooted, since both need large eyes to see in deep, dark waters.

Sadly, visitors to the commission's Facebook page don't seem to be taking the quest for knowledge quite so seriously. Suggestions for the eye's former owner include the Lovecraftian creation Cthulhu, comic genius Marty Feldman, or Sauron, scourge of Middle Earth. ®

Question by Valerie: What qualifies as "on the water hours" when pursuing an OUPV? 360 days are required on the water... What qualifies as "a day on the water"? I have never had a job on a boat, but I have sailed smaller sized boats a lot and larger sized boats a little. What can be considered "on the water days? How must they be documented? Thanks, Valerie Best answer for What qualifies as "on the water hours" when pursuing an OUPV?:

Answer by 45 auto
U need to have a log book signed by all captains U served with. Have a few that took the course and can't get there license because they can't show a log book.

Answer by Capt. John
From the very moment you know your going to apply for your OUPV license... You need to start thinking "verify everything". Because you need verifiable "sea time". If you haven't been using a log book on your boat, you need to start doing so now. The USCG will accept your log book entries as proof of your "on the water hours" (or sea time). If you are using your own boat - your log book or entries don't need to be signed by anybody. If you're not familiar with these "log books" you can buy one at a local Marine store. You need date, time out, time in, distance, destination, weather... and the names of any and all passengers onboard with you that day. And it is a good idea to have a passenger list, and get in the habit of having your passengers sign or initial and date next to their names. This provides proof positive for that day's sea time. Hopefully, your marine fuel is purchased with a credit/debit card. If not, you need to. It is a good idea, (if you don't already) to get in the practice of "topping off" your tanks every day after you use it. Not only does this help prevent moisture in your fuel tank, it also is verification you were on the boat that day. If you have these fuel receipts to "backup" your log entries, and a fair share of boating days with passengers that have signed your passenger list (and this can include your girlfriend, wife, kids, friends - whoever goes boating with you... This will put you in great shape. As far as "days on the water" are concerned, they will accept 8 hours per day... However, if you go out for 16 hours that will count as 2 days, and 24 hours out will count this as 3 days... Got it? Link below is USCG information you need. Good Luck, John

You can find these answers at www.uscg.mil. Look at the links to licensing. The forms and definitions are there for self documentation.
