Felix Baumgartner on a successful second test jump in July

In less than a week, extreme skydiver Felix Baumgartner will attempt to be the first person to break the sound barrier in free fall.
Yes, he'll be more than three times higher than the cruising altitude of jetliners. And sure, he'll only have a pressurized suit and helmet standing between him and an anticipated temperature of minus 70 degrees. But Baumgartner is optimistic ahead of his 23-mile jump over the New Mexico desert. As Baumgartner confidently told the Associated Press, "So many unknowns, but we have solutions to survive."
His Red Bull-sponsored team includes numerous doctors and engineers. He also has current skydive record-holder Joe Kittinger, who, as an Air Force officer, leapt from an open gondola in 1960, falling 19.5 miles at 614 mph, or Mach 0.9.
"After this," Baumgartner said, "I'm going to retire because I've been successfully doing things for the last 25 years and I'm still alive."

Question by R.B: Why does god get credit for our good inventions "because he gave us knowledge to create the technology"? He also gave us the ability and knowledge of how to torture a person in the most agonizing ways possible.. something people have done throughout history, is God credited for the creation of torture devices? Surely if your logic is "God gets the credit for X because he gave us the ability/tools to create X" then it's a double standard to say that creating medicine is God's credit because he gave us the knowledge to do so but creating nuclear weapons is man's fault? Best answer for Why does god get credit for our good inventions "because he gave us knowledge to create the technology"?:

Knowledge is always neutral on both sides of the turf for the desire and believe to take their own path of good and evil.
That excuse is rubbish. It's clear that in history all of our innovations were produced through trial and error, not one inventor or scientist got anything right the first time. They came up with an idea, tried and failed, tried and failed again and again until the idea was honed to perfection and gave up results. There was no sudden divine revelation. Not to mention I can't remember the last time an inventor or scientist gave thanks to god and not his own hard work after coming up with a new innovation or discovery.
You seem to be missing the fact that sin is loose in the world and you must choose good over evil. It is a God given right.
God also gave us the rules for using wha t He has given us. It is man, not God, who chooses to ignore those rules. People need to stop trying to use God as a scapegoat for human lust for power and wealth.
It's a double standard one of many used by the religious.
